Kaniyambetta Grama Panchayat – History and Geographical ProfileKaniyambetta Grama Panchayat is a local self-government institution in Wayanad District, Kerala, falling under the Vythiri Taluk and Panamaram Block. The Panchayat has an area of 37.8 square kilometres and consists of 18 wards. It is bounded by Panamaram Grama Panchayat to the north; Muttil and Kottathara Grama Panchayats to the south; Poothadi and Meenangadi Grama Panchayats to the east; and Kottathara and Panamaram Grama Panchayats to the west.Kaniyambetta Panchayat was formed in 1962 from Kaniyambetta Village, which was formerly part of the Ponginichikkalloor Amsom of the South Wayanad Taluk in the erstwhile Kozhikode District.
